Stumpedia - People Powered Search Engine for Quality Targeted Traffic

Stumpedia - People Powered Search Engine for Quality Targeted Traffic

Mar 2008 | Category: General Tips

This post will show you how to share your best content and getting visitors flooding as a result.

HomeBiz - Stumpedia.com

Stumpedia is a new search engine relies on human participation to index, organize, and review the World Wide Web. Here I’ll show you how Stumpedia matches the people in your blog’s niche directly to your content.

Head to Stumpedia.com and you’ll see a simple interface like above. Try searching for a phrase, “increase blog traffic“, for example. By the time this article is written, no results were found for the phrase.

And? What’s next? You can submit your link, RELATED to the search phrase to be displayed as the result on the next search! WOW! How great is that?! So, when people enter the keyword “increase blog traffic”, it’ll display your URL!

But this is not your own privilege. Another person will also able to enter their URL. So there will be a lot of URLs listed in the end.

Let’s then a look of a “Google” keyword that already has some links listed.

Click to enlarge and you’ll see beside each result, there’s a thumb up and down. People who find the link useful and related to the keyword should thumb up the link, otherwise, down. Currently, Stumpedia sorts the search results based on the total number of votes which includes both ups and downs. In the next release, they will come up with an algorthium that compares more factors. So, the higher they rank, more people found they are relevant and mostly you will think the same way too. And higher rank as always, has more traffic.

In case you tried to spam using irrelevant links to the keyword, people will get annoyed and give your link a thumb down. Your link can end up with bad signs all over and nobody will click through it.

To be able to submit your link, you need to be registered or logged in. On your member section, you’ll be able to see all the links you’ve submitted, along with the options to edit the keywords they’re related to. Enlarge the image below, this is one of the links I submitted. Notice that I can add or delete certain keywords to make a better association with the link.

Still on the same page, you an also view who gave a thumb up or who found the link irrelevant. You can also visit their profile and view their links. This is your chance to have a revenge on the people gave you a thumb down, hahaha…kidding! If you feel that the page represents the keyword, give it a go. If it isn’t, cut it short.

With its current feature now, it is very possible to get a targeted quality traffic to your blog, as long as you relate your keywords well. Submit only your best contents that are specifically talking about the keyword you’re targetting, and people will happily put you on the top.

Stumpedia is still on beta now, so expect to see more features added on the way. And if you feel that Stumpedia can benefit you and your blog on its full potential, spread the words about Stumpedia. The more people using it, more votes will flow resulting in a better ranking for everyone’s.

Update 25 April 2008: Introducing Instant Answers

Stumpedia has added a feature where you can find answers for questions nd difficulties. A combination of instant messaging and Yahoo! Answers, Instant Answers is the answer from Stumpedia for the opportunity to meet new people and share your knowledge and interests with the world on Stumpedia.

Asking questions

Simply enter and submit your question from the Stumpedia Instant Answers page. You do not need to provide a profile, create a username or remember a password. Stumpedia selected the Muchobene power engine because it identifies and connects you in real-time to the people currently online who appear to be most competent to assist you - either in a given partner community or in other user groups. Converse freely and rate your conversation at the end.

Answering questions

You may also want to be able to answer questions and share your own experience. In this case, install the Muchobene plug-in. If Muchobene routes a question to you, a pop-up will appear and show you a question. You can accept the question and respond to it, or decline to answer. As the community grows your help will be requested every now and then. If you have chosen the Ask Me! status, you may be invited to participate more frequently.
