Review The Sites – Get $150 in Cash and More in Publicity

That’s right! Dennis Edell from DirectSalesWebMarketing is launching two brand new blogs and he would like to see what you all think about them.

What’s in it for you guys? Well, I’ll let you know on the bottom part of this post (Dennis said that the prizes must go after the review) . So, here is what I think about DennisEdell.com and Win Cash Online.

This is the personal blog of Dennis Edell. Up to this moment, he owns another two blogs which are DirectSalesWebMarketing.com and EasyCashContests.com. DennisEdell.com is the central hub for all that will be Dennis’ journey and it speaks about business, life, or an all-purpose rant for the day. Now here’s the review.

I hope you don’t mind if I go into small details like the following. The first time I saw the site, I was caught by a logo with Dennis’ initial and a tagline. The logo looks fine. In fact, it helps the blog’s branding. But I think there is too much characters in the site description/tagline. Maybe he can combine the two sentences into one like “A helluva trip in an internet marketer’s mind”. Or, he can put some space between the characters to reduce cluttered impression.

Down to the sub-header, there are three sections that contain the most popular articles, feed subscription links and links to other sites and social networks. I’d suggest reducing the number of popular articles displayed because they break the section border and make it looks untidy. The links to social networks and other sites looks alright, but it can be juiced up by adding some social network icons instead of plain text.

Now on to the content. Similar to the tagline on the header, the title characters seem to be stuck together. Although they won’t complain, a bigger space will make reading easier.

There are two sidebars. The one closer to the content has a lot of empty space. I’d say to use bulleted list instead of drop down menu to list the categories and move the recent posts list under the category to balance the items with the other sidebar. Still on the sidebar, this time it’s the right most sidebar. I think the banners such as comment luv, alexa widget, etc (under the “Other Cool Stuff”) looks prettier without the border. Add border=”0” to the <img> tag and see the result. Maybe Dennis’ll like them that way too. And it would be better to align them proportionally with the widest widget on the bottom.

Las but not least, the footer. In my opinion, if Dennis’ blog isn’t going to have people subscribe for a purpose, Dennis can remove the login and the rest of the link. The section can be well used as a list of featured posts, adspaces or a subscription link.
