Proven Methods of Building Your Referral Network

Proven Methods of Building Your Referral Network

Nov 8th, 2007 | Category: "Get Paid To" Industry

After knowing things to be considered when selecting a program, it’s time to expand your network so you will achieve your purpose of getting rich through home biz lots faster! Remember, another factor of getting rich is NETWORK. So, ready or not, go through the article below as chances don’t wait until you’re ready!

Generally, 2 methods of building your network are: the one having GOOD effect, and the one which has BETTER.
The good one doesn’t require lots of effort but it’s effects lasts not as long as the better one. And your profile might be less known as this is very important in building a network.

For better result , you can start by jumping to any forums which have related topics on your referral program. You can find them by googling “bla bla bla Forum”, yes, of course you can use another search engine. Bla bla bla could be “Paid to Read” or “ Home Business”. While joining, don’t forget to add your signature in your profile. It better be your referral URL you got from the programs you have joined. So every time you make a post, your URL will be displayed, people see and JOIN! You might even find some forums that allow advertising. This way you can promote your link and reach hundreds of people.Other than forums, similar results can be expected from groups on both Yahoo and Google, when it’s applied on groups related to your interest of course. Posts or messages you post here will be received by all members who opted to receive e-mails. You can put your link in the links page and it will remain there. Set, forget it and still receive referrals from it months after.

Still, if you want to be notified by the other members of the group, you need to show up and post at least once a day. Become active, in short. If you feel that your referral program has the solution of a question, response to it. Try searching for people who ask about working from home or other things related to it. When you found questions or problems that can be solved by your program, answer them. Highest convertion rate is mostly got from this type of “advertising” because they already have the same interest with you. A recommended place to do this is at MyLot. Why? Because it has almost 70,000 members and you’ll get paid for posts you made! Another surprise…

Another useful tip is when giving out information about your program, avoid from being too subjective about your program. Try to recommend instead to promote. People who last longer as your downline usually comes up from those who are not easily buying whatever someone else says. Maybe some of these below will help you to determine your strategies when recommending your program:
• You only tell good sides of the program. Instead, recommending gives a fair review of the program. If there’s a little downside, you may inform them but you also should tell them that the return is more rewarding, that’s why you’re optimistic about the program. If there’s many negatives you yourself cannot explain why you join the program, then there’s something wrong about your decision on joining the program.
• Promotional post or articles are stuffed with referral links and banners. While recommending posts usually have at most 3 affiliation links depending on how long the post is.
• Most of promotional intended mention sky-high income, recommending articles shows reasonable income along with some obstacles that might occur (if there were any).
• Someone who had already experiencing matters participating in the program would most likely write a recommending post. While they who only hear news of just reading without any knowledge of the program tended to stress on promotion.
So, start recommending, instead of promoting.

If that’s too much for you, take advantage of free classified ads. You can do it for one day every week or at least every month. Free advertising websites are swarming out there, with hundreds of thousands of readers. Imagine if only 1/1000 people sign up after reading your ad… You can find those free advertising sites by typing in “free classifieds” or “free ads service” and see how one day effort pays enough for a month. Different from posting in forums or groups, in classified ads list you need to directly hit to the heart of your ads mind. If they look between your ads, they must have needs or problems to be solved. Make sure when they read your ad, what they read is a solution to their problem. So don’t waste space with unnecessary words, instead, flush key informations on what the program has to offer. But remember NOT to over do it. Make it as natural as possible.

When you’ve completed the early stage of building your network, you now possibly have several or maybe hundreds of new sign-ups. It’s time to maintain and keep what you’ve earned. Begin by documenting your downline’s contact e-mails or messenger IDs. In the future when your network has already became familiar with you, you can use those opt-in list to offer other programs you have joined. Because they already know you, it’ll be a lot easier to attract them to join your group!

Second thing to do is to interact with your group. Send them periodical e-mail, whether it’s just to say hi or to announce program updates (try to add some of your touch, don’t just copy-paste). Indeed that they also receive updates from the program’s admin himself, but if you do the same thing, they would get the feeling that they aren’t left alone (how sweet…). Also when some members contact you, you SHOULD NOT ignore them. Answer them and if you don’t know the answer, tell them that you will try to contact the admin regarding to the question. If there’s no way to contact the admin and you feel that there’s something fishy about the program, tell your downline that you’re with them. If I know that I’m not the only person who’s facing the problem, I’ll be more relieved.

More advance, try creating a blog for programs you participate in. There are lots of no-cost qualified blogs around you. Try WordPress, Blogger, MovableType, etc. Why should I trouble myself doing that? Because it helps you create the most powerful asset in business and networking, TRUST. Others say CREDIBILITY. You can explain the program does you well and if possible submit your earnings screenshot, proving the program is legit. With so many scams out there, most people are less enthusiast to sign up for the free programs. Advertising the blog is far more crucial than advertising your referral links individually. More useful articles to help you set up your early steps blogging can be found at “Choosing a Blogging Tool“, “10 Must to Do Things After Creating a Blog“, and “How to Get Your Blog Indexed ASAP“.

Additionally, you can join a networking site like Adlandpro. It’s free to join and do almost all of the things mentioned so far. Set up a good profile and a little web page contains explanation and refer people to your programs. Lots of forum to join and ad spaces are scattered everywhere. You can do networking with these people and sometimes they will come to you first. Lots of people here have thousands of friends. Do you see the potential to expose other people to your programs?

Now, to conclude…three general techniques can be used to build a network:
1. Being known or become popular (through ads, for better result try forums and groups)
2. Become reputable (can be by giving good responses to your downline, don’t try to cover-up something)
3. Recommend, not promote (never promise things that don’t exist)
