Promoting Your Posts with 125×125 Ad Banners

I wonder if somebody has thought about it yet.

HomeBiz - billboard

I mean, look at all the 125×125 ads everywhere. They’re getting more and more popular and widely used as a blog promotion. Entrecard also uses this ad format to help bloggers gain traffic to theirs.

Everytime I looked at one, they link to the homepages. I imagine that those many links, banner ads, are pointing to your main page and less are deeplinking to promote your content. So why not utilizing 125×125 banner ads to also deeplink instead of reliying on text links alone? This is one of mine:

Make Money Blogging - Choosing the right domain name

Moreover, the more sites deeplinking to you, the better, ain’t it? In case not all bloggers would agree on having your ads deeplinking to your own posts, you can sign up with banner exchange services like 125Exchange or 1stChoiceBanners. They are the services I’m using for the last few weeks.

Before start linking, don’t forget to optimize your image links by

  • using a descriptive (but short) alt, title, image name (instead of “untitled-1″) to provide the best identification to your image. Keywords can also be used, but not stuffed. :)
  • making the best visual for the image, since they come in a rather small size. Try to read the title yourself.

So what do you think? Will this method be useful to promote your blog and boost some traffic? What flaws did you spot from it? How would you make it better? Feel free to try and share the results!

I think its a great idea, solid deep links are always worth having and boost the PR of some of your posts which might really improve search engine traffic. Good thinking.

Hi, Louis! Thank you for visiting Only in Silence and thanks for the tip about those emails. I’m doing that soon. Guess what. As of this writing, I have a new scam mail sitting in my spam folder. I told you, whenever I speak of the ‘devil’, he comes. Haha! ;) Btw, I have a 125X125 button too. However, I am quite hesitant to show it yet until the matching header is up (the header is nice and matches the color of my theme, but I can’t make it look pretty up there, but I will soon)

You’re welcome, Abelle! It was my pleasure. I’m sure the button will look good as soon as you figure out how to fix the issue.

Its always a better idea to imbed your site as many places as possible. I know that there seems to be less advice colunms given on web marketing, its always better when you can find so many answers to questions about online business, especially if you’re an at home business. I actually work with Microsoft, and right now I’m really excited to spread the word about the Vision to Venture tour they’re having between April and May. The tour is fully geared towards entrepreneurs and web business owners/developers.
