How the Internet Impacts Learning

Since the Internet revolution, individuals from all around the world have a vast amount of knowledge and information at their fingertips, often available within seconds or minutes of browsing. The online revolution has not only altered our current methods of communicating and socializing, but it has also contributed to impacting the way we learn today as an entire species. Using the Internet to learn has become commonplace and provides us with a variety of mediums to choose from regardless of the subjects we are interested in.

Learning on YouTube is possible as 72 hours of video is uploaded each minute, with 4 billion hours of video being watched within the community on a monthly basis. More than 6.7 millions students are enrolled in at least one online course in college or for high school. Today, there are even free online courses provided from universities around the world for any students interested in receiving certification and a real education without having to take out student and federal loans during the process.
