If you love to do everything together, why not dress up for Halloween together? Here are some ideas for cheap Halloween costumes for couples.
A Pair of Fluffy Dice
For this you will need two large cardboard boxes, and enough fluffy fake fur fabric to cover them. Cut out holes for head and arms to fit through, and glue the fabric to the outside of the boxes with craft glue.
Cut circles out of black felt for the dice numbers and glue them to the fur fabric, using a real dice as a guide. Take a length of black cord, and tie each end to a dice. Where sweats and pants under the costume that matches the color of the fake fur, or wear plain black.
Adam and Eve
There are two versions of this costume modest and naughty. Choose which one you prefer!
For the modest costume, you will need two pairs of sweat shirts and pants in as close to a flesh color as you can get. If you can’t find the right color, dye plain white sweat shirts and pants to suit. If you choose thick warm fabric, you can wear these costumes outdoors on the chilliest Halloween!
Cut four large fig leaves out of pieces of green felt. Glue the fig leaves to the appropriate parts of the costume. Buy fake ivy and make wreaths for your hair Eve carries an apple, and Adam carries a rubber snake.
For the naughty version, stick or sew the felt fig leaves to a flesh colored bikini and flesh colored underpants. Best to keep these costumes for indoor wear, unless you want to suffer frostbite on some sensitive areas!
Ozzie and Sharon Osborne
Ozzie: You will need a long black wig, a heavy metal t shirt, black pants and a pair of sunglasses. Paint black circles under your eyes for that haunted look when you take the glasses off. Don’t forget to add a remote control to the ensemble so you can yell for Jack to help you with it.
Sharon: Wear a sexy black dress, fishnet tights and sleek your hair back with gel. If you don’t have black hair, dye it with spray on one use hair dye. Don’t forget the red lipstick and sunglasses. A few tears in the fishnet is a nice touch, and you can add a copy of her tell-all book.
Fred and Wilma Flintstone
Fred: For this costume you will need an oversized orange t shirt, one that hangs down to your knees. Cut the hem of the t shirt and sleeves into points. Cut a slit from the front of the neck so that the neck of the t shirt hangs open. Stick a patch of black fake fur inside the neck of the t shirt for chest hair (or use your own!).
Take a blue scarf and shred the ends to make it look ragged. Tie this around your neck so that the cut neck of the t shirt hangs over it like a shirt collar.
Wilma: You can make a Wilma costume with a short white skirt and a one shouldered white top. Cut the hem of the skirt into points. Thread some large white beads onto yarn and tie round your neck. Spray your hair with one use orange hair dye and set in a chignon.
A Couple of Real Babes
You will need one set of pale blue and one set of pale pink sweat shirts and pants. Cut two large bibs out of toweling and decorate with appliqu or fabric paints one can say Baby Girl and one Baby Boy, or use cute nicknames. Top with cute knitted caps in pink for the girl and blue for the boy.
Wear this ensemble over flesh colored sweater and pants if you are going outdoors. Carry dummies and lollipops, and grab all the candies!
