FreeShipping.org/blog is a regularly updated blog of a free shipping resource website (freeshipping.org) where you can find trusted online retailers who are offering free shipping coupons. To find out more about FreeShipping.org, you can head to their “About” page.

Now on to the blog. Supposedly people stumbled upon FreeShipping’s blog, they will figure out what kind of information this blog provides in less than a minute. A description on the header saying “Free Shipping Coupons & Coupon Codes To Over 800 Stores” lets people know that inside, they can find information where to spend less in their next online shopping.

Following the header is a navigational menu. With the expectation of finding a better deal, people are directed to a menu where they can browse for stores which provide what they need. They can choose to browse by store, category, expiry dates or the most recently added coupons.

My suggestions will be for the logo. It has already taken a suitable form, a price tag, but IMO it’s not “visible” enough to represent a headline of a blog. Adding more touch of colors to the logo or colorize the header’s background will surely make it stand out and draws more attention. The second one is the label at the right end of the header which says “Free Shipping Blog”. It seems redundant. The blog already has the description beside its name and further, the phrase can cause ambiguity. People who already know freeshipping.org will get the point, but those who don’t may think either it’s a “free shipping-blog” or a “blog which is shipping free” which none of them are represented by the posts inside.

The shop images under the menu can use some text to describe what they are. Maybe something like “Fast links to free shipping coupons at stores below”

The left sidebar following next provides a strategic spot to offer free updates to free shipping alerts delivered to your mailbox. Even though perhaps there are more visitors to this blog who would prefer email feed, it’s also a good idea to provide an RSS subscription link.

Going through the subcription box, visitors can find more ways to browse free shipping coupons by product categories and stores by alphabet and a drop down list.

The main content of the blog is easily discovered by it’s light blue header. Readers can skim what the articles are offering and if they’re interested, they can choose to read more information behind the “Continue Reading” link. Besides of the latest coupon updates, sometimes people can also find informative articles in relation to shopping online. Which is a great use of what a blog should be. Providing these extra information, they can get new readers from search engine traffic.

Finished reading the blog? Wait until you check the footer section. This section shows the readers more pages which are probably hidden from their navigation. Some categories are pulled out of the list and featured here.

The most bottom part is another logo of FreeShipping.org. Compared to the one on the header, this placement fits very well. It nails the brand into people’s head that it’ll remind them of FreeShipping.org next time they want to look for better deals.

And lastly, I did a little keyword research for the domain name and it seems that FreeShipping.org did their homework . For 400+ keywords, their position is at most #20 in Google search result. I think it’s a job well done
