Blog Monetization – Pay Per Play Will be Launched in 10 Days

January 22, 2008, filed under News and Rumors

In case you haven’t heard, there will be a new form of advertising that doesn’t take space on your web page real estate. Publishers will also get paid per impression. Curious? Read my introduction to PPP ads as an advertising breakthrough. In addition, don’t forget to sign-up to my email feed to keep you updated on how things develop!

A week ago PPP stole Wall Street Journal’s attention, but controversies that have been going since the beginning don’t seem to stop towards its launching on February 1st, 10 days ahead. Disregarding all the naysayers, they came up with new announcements and progresses convincing their supporters to go through negative comments usually rise with new innovations. Here are important points covering their official announcement on their blog:

POINT 1:

They are opening their gates to smaller advertisers such as your local restaurant, book store or local night clubs.

We are having no trouble lining up the big advertisers but we need small niche advertisers like Joe’s Pizza (fictitious example).

Imagine Joe’s Pizza announcing their 2 for 1 special to a single zip code. How many small businesses out there thrive on local walk in traffic? What if you can help them to increase their business through “micro targeted” audio ads on the Internet.

You can also go for large advertisers. A forum area has been set up to discuss this option.

NetAudioAds has set their pricing up at $.014 per play or a $14 CPM that will be marked up to $.02 or $20 CPM and you as the affiliate will get paid on the spread. The spread is the difference between $.014 and $.02 or $.006 ($6 CPM). This is the base pricing that we will launch with and as certain niches (markets) or zip (postal) codes become more competitive then bidding will begin and the pricing will go up. As pricing goes up you will maintain the same percentage spread.

The BPA audit came in and this is where they sit for launch on the 1st of February, 2008. As they gain momentum then the base price WILL increase. BPA audits will be ongoing and NetAudio Ads will always set their pricing standard based on verifiable results that BPA Worldwide produces.

If you are interested in lining up advertisers, then log in/join to your member’s area and follow the instructions from there.

POINT 2:

They are arming their member’s area with security features and all stats will start reflecting accurate stats by Thursday, January 24th, 2008.

Security measures are tight and by Thursday, anyone using robots or automated methods to gain false ad plays will be caught within minutes. We are pleased to announce that many different attempts to game the PPP system have been identified and countermeasures put in place. As time rolls forward we expect more people to attempt to commit “play fraud” and all I can say is … Don’t try it, you’ll get caught.

NetAudioAds has an automated system that notifies engineers at any point where suspicious activity is indicated. The details of what qualifies as suspicious will remain a well-kept secret and the algorithm for determining suspicious activity will change. This is a security measure to keep the fraudsters in the dark about NetAudioAds algorithms.

POINT 3:

Ad ad play will be considered a play and you will be paid when:

Every unique visitor that has JavaScript and Flash enabled hear an audio ad on pages where the PPP code is placed. That same visitor will not hear another ad on your website unless:

1. They have been on your site longer than 3 minutes and then click to another page on your site that has the PPP code inserted.

2. They refresh the page they are on after 3 minutes.

In essence, your visitors will only hear one 5 second ad every 3 minutes if they trigger a page on your site that has the PPP code inserted.

If a user hears one audio ad and is still on that same page for at least 3 minutes they WILL NOT hear another ad play on that same page unless they refresh that page.

However (if this happens, you won’t get paid):

Visitors that DO NOT have JavaScript or Flash enabled will not trigger an audio ad to play and therefore cannot be counted as an ad play. Because of this you may see up to a 20% discrepancy between what your analytics (stats) show and what you see in your member’s area (back office) stats.

In other words, if a visitor does not have JavaScript and Flash enabled then NetAudioAds will never know they were there and no ad will be triggered.

POINT 4:

They will cooperate with authorities in various countries to announce Amber Alerts, tornado warnings (in specific geographic locations) and other “public service” announcements. You will not be paid on public service announcements because NetAudioAds will not charge for them. These announcements will be kept to a bare minimum.

POINT 5:

Bolding the difference about:

Please note… Our marketing website is sellingppp.com and our forum site is sellppp.com, there is a huge difference. As always, you will be able to log into your member’s area (back office) only at sellingppp.com.

Hmmm… At first, I wasn’t aware that the ads will be played every 3 minutes. I thought they will only play once when the page loads. Well, I guess I will have to carefully selective on which pages I’m going to use with PPP ads. A Midas touch can be both a blessing and curse. It depends on how well we use it to make benefit.

What do you think? Do recent developments and news change your mind on PPP ads? Do you think it’ll sink or swim? Do you promote PPP to others?
